A Gnome in the House takes place in Gate City, Virginia, a small Appalachian town of good folks who live the simple life. Three children and a dog find a gnome in their backyard. The gnome goes to school with one of the boys and causes trouble with the teachers. Later, he takes the children, a friend of the children, and their dog on a dangerous journey through many underworlds. They visit a fairy’s world where one of the children is captured by an evil troll. Gnome is injected with a deadly virus. The children travel on, searching for their captured friend and for the antidote to the virus. They travel through Hades along the way.
