Armyd is a mage that has wandered for most of his life. Seeking a cure for a mysterious malady that plagues his sleep with horrid nightmares and his waking hours with weakness should he cast a spell, he roams the countryside. After being directed by a vision, he decides to seek out a relic from an ancient war that might aide in his recovery. Its last known location was in Gabral, a city of great learning and progress, the city of his birth. Only Gabral had been destroyed nearly 300 years ago.
