This is a story about Carly who marries young against her parentsa wishes. But her and Mark were happy and had Karl, a beautiful son. Tragically, a car crash robs Carly of both leaving her devastated, she decides to move to a remote cottage where she can be alone to heal her wounds in private. Her life is turned around when Carly has car trouble one day and is rescued by Sam, her landlord. He takes the time to slowly gain her confidence, helping her get over her fears of storms, like the one on the night her family died. Realising she needs his company more and more she finally allows him to make love to her, turning her back into a whole woman after four long years of solitude. All is well until Carly discovers it was Sam who was driving the other car which crashed into them. Devastated at his betrayal, she cannot believe he did not tell her before they became involved. Returning first to her parentsa house, she then decides to flee to Italy, anything rather than to face Sam again.
