In the dead of winter as a storm raged around the log house, twins were born, a boy and a girl, arriving minutes apart. The girl was born announcing loudly to the world that she was going to be different, and she was. Bunny Sue and her brother had a bond that went beyond closeness, and ended in tragedy. Bunny attended college alone at the age of nineteen. Before she could graduate, another tragedy struck and Bunny was devastated once more. She cannot live with the memories at the ranch and decided to travel. Bunny rode horseback alone into the vast mountain and canyon land of the San Juan Mountains where she met a young Indian woman. Several months passed and the friendship bond between the two became an added burden. Bunny had to leave before the snow flew, and snow comes early to the San Juan Mountains.
