Emotional Turbulence portrays a lesbian couple and their circle, who have the same insecurities in their relationships as heterosexuals do. The major problem the main character, Viveca, faces is breaking the news about her lover, Tandy, to her daughter, who finds bisexuality disgusting. The characters are faced with prejudice in many public places, so the relationship is kept quiet. A second obstacle is the affair that winds up with a jazz singer murdered and a relationship on the rocks. It takes a tragedy before Vivecaas daughter finally realizes the sincerity of the feelings her mother and Tandy have for one another.
