Ridgway’s Parliamentary Manual, for the Year 1884 (1884)
From the time Jesus of Nazareth was 12 until he was 29 there are no writings of where he was or what he was doing. Many scholars believe he was working with his father Joseph learning to become a carpenter. But, many other believe he was some place else. The following is a story which shows where the young Jesus might have been. When Jesus of Nazareth turned 13, his Heavenly Father told Joseph, he earthly father that Jesus needed to go on a trip around the other countries on the Mediterranean Sea so that he may learn how other religions were taught. He also needed to see the sins that were being committed by men on earth. When Jesus left for his trip, he did not know exactly what he was to do. He knew that every time he stopped in some town to visit the synagogue or just walk the streets there was always someone who would offer him food, drink and a place to stay. As Jesus learns the religions of the area, he begins to see that the Jewish religion is not being taught as God wanted it taught. Jesus started preaching to people usually under a tree outside of a town so as not to draw too much attention. He always had a crowd to listen to him. Everyone eventually called him Young Teacher which he accepted. He also began performing small miracles for those in dire need. He requested they not tell anyone because he may be looked at as a demon. After 17 years of learning and seeing the sins God had told him about, he returned to his family and began in preaching of the Gospel and gathered his Apostles.
