The Life of Jesus Christ the Savior: Retold from the Evangelists (1885)

In 1882, John Wesley Hardin drifted into Greentree, Wyoming. In an upstairs hotel room he was shot in the head and fell through the window to the alley below. Before his assailant could make sure he was dead, a pretty girl came along and rescued him. He couldnat remember his name or where he was from. In time he learned that he was fast with a gun and knew more about horses than he did about cattle. But from the clothes he was wearing he might have been a gambler or perhaps a bounty hunter. In one of his pockets was a poster of Bill Longley, a gunslinger from Texas. The girl, heir to a large cattle ranch in the Wind River Range, took a shine to him, and because of her he ended up in a range waraand deeply in love.
