Career Woman is a novel about Susan, who has always worked and has no time for a family. When her mother suddenly passes away, she returns to her hometown. She is drafted to help with a community project that requires the use of the high school gym. She talks to the principal, the man she has been in love with for years. He is going to ask his wife for a divorce, but then his wife becomes ill. Susan is the only person who knows she is ill. After many twists and turns, there is a wedding and even a surprise.
