When Donna Mendenhall received a diagnosis of lung cancer in July of 2008 she was shocked. Like most of the world she thought that lung cancer was for smokers. Over the next weeks and months she became even more aware of the unspoken stigma attached to lung cancer and the lack of research funding. She decided if she had only a few years left, she was going to live them fully and honestly, educating and bringing awareness to any who would give her a forum. This is her story which speaks of being open and honest with those she loves, sharing tears, making memories - living with rather than dying of cancer and, hopefully, leaving a legacy of love for many generations to come.
