After returning to his rightful place at Castle Owensdale, young Prince Darius goes to Alorah, where he finds a mysterious envelope and discovers the extent of his powers, prompting him to embark on a quest to save the life of a dear friend. The prince then learns of a dark plot masterminded by the evil wizard Rydell, which gives him and those around him a deeper understanding of whom and what he is. Finally, when his dreams are once again interwoven with reality, Darius and his dragons are led into a perilous situation across the Helena Sea.
