Petrichor: Life, Respite, and the Pursuit of Her takes a poetic journey through the mind of an ordinary human learning what it means to be alive. Rather than seeking to impart knowledge, the author simply invites feeling. He does not tell a story so much as he extends fifty-two offers to experience anxiety, grief, and amazement along with him. Petrichor questions societal norms, the existence of true love, and reality itself, all while the author exists in perpetual tension between fatalism and hope. By doing so, perhaps he does tell a story after all: a story he himself has yet to realize. In the end, he is left with one lingering question: will She ever find the roadmap that leads to Herself?
The author will be making a personal donation with a portion of each sale to the Melanoma & Skin Cancer Fund of Winship Cancer Institute at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia.
