Ancient Criminal Trials in Scotland / Compiled From the Original Records and mss.; With Historical Illus. by Robert Pitcairn
Robert Pitcairn
This book is a continuation of Robert Pitcairn's compilation of trial records from Scotland's High Court of Justiciary, covering the period from the 16th to the 18th centuries. As with the previous volume, the book provides a wealth of information about Scottish legal history, including the development of common law and the administration of justice. Along with primary source material from court records, the book includes Pitcairn's own commentary and analysis.
