Nightrise

This is a world none of us will live to see. Hundreds of thousands of years from our time, the children of long-forgotten humankind inherit the world in profuse diversity. Living alongside one another are two such races: dayfolk and nightfolk. They defend each other, trade with one another, and by ancient law, never are to meet. Now Chev of the nightfolk has broken this taboo in an act of mercy. Exiled from his home and burdened with a terrible curse that keeps him from his childhood love, he sets out into the war-torn, monster-infested Daylit Lands to seek deliverance. Joining him on this journey is Varnas, an irreverent old survivalist, Darin, who once tried to murder Chev, Ma-ma the impetuous goat, and Starlight, a child of the Dayfolk. And yet what looms large across these lands is the warrior Ossen, Chev’s long-lost father. Part Star Wars and part Lord of the Rings, NIGHTRISE weds both science-fiction and fantasy elements into an original setting and compelling narrative.
