My Pretentious Memoir

Donald J Hurzeler

Don Hurzeler was raised like a free-range chicken. He took that upbringing with him into the world of athletic competition and then a long career in corporate America. Mistakes were made along the way. His previous book, WHAT’S LEFT OF DON, focused on his adventures. This book focuses on his misadventures, featuring some of the dumbest and most humorous mistakes you will ever encounter. Like his failed attempt at marketing condoms with corporate logos or attempting to ride a killer whale in a marine life park at 3am or, thinking at age 50, that being in the mosh pit at a Green Day concert might be fun. It was not. If you want a book that will make you laugh, feel like you’ve made good decisions in your life, and then sucker punch you with a Christmas story that makes the author look like gold, this is a must read. ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Don Hurzeler was an athlete in his youth, a surfer all of his life, a man of the sea, a runner, photographer, writer and a successful businessman. His jobs along the way included being an assistant butcher, a grocery store clerk, working in customer service and graduating on to fancy jobs like Chief Underwriting Officer and CEO/President of an insurance company operation. He has served on dozens of boards and headed a national organization of some 20,000 plus insurance professionals. Today, Don is retired from corporate business and travels the world with his wife of over 50 years, Linda. They have been to over 100 countries and their photographs are sold in their Hawaii based Lava Light Galleries, Inc., where they are partners with world class photographer, C.J. Kale. Don and Linda reside in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii. They have two grown children and five grandchildren, all of whom love his books and highly recommend them to you.
