Family can be both a blessing and a curse-though for Atreus, head chef of the restaurant, "Tantalus," it is more frequently the latter. His brother and former partner, Thyestes, has taken everything from him: his wife, his best recipe, and the success of his business. Now, Atreus desperately needs a spectacle which can revive the stature of his restaurant. However, an idea arises which might resolve all of his problems-one which can offer unprecedented success for Tantalus and revenge for Atreus' humiliation. An updated, darkly comedic reinterpretation of Seneca's tragedy Thyestes, Chopped: The Secret Ingredient blends ancient themes of rage, hubris, and familial conflict with modern satire of entertainment and the culinary world.
