Finnigin’s Collar
Mary Anne Miceli
Finnigin’s Collar, written in rhythm and rhyme, teaches ‘mindfulness’ in a fun way to young children!
Finnigin, the cat, has a new collar and thinks she is better than any of the neighborhood cats. In turn, all the other cats, think she is a show-off and plan a parade of flags without including Finnigin, While watching the parade, neighbors bring catnip for all the cats to enjoy, The cats, instead, discard their outfits for catnip, leaving their costumes in piles! Finnigin, too, enjoys some catnip!
The book playfully uses some duplicate pages, both in color and black/white, to visually enhance the concept of seeing the same situation in different ways to enhance the concept of ‘mindfulness’!
