Prostate Cancer: My Journey
Michael Fry
Michael’s journey following his original diagnosis in 2004 at the age of 55. He opted not to have his prostate removed as his cancer was diagnosed as low grade. Instead he chose active surveillance and the use of supplements. PSA tests continued followed by biopsies every five years. Michael also believes that his positive attitude and light-hearted, healthy approach to the disease has helped him manage his condition. His last biopsy could not detect any cancer however he continues active surveillance with his specialist and at the time of writing, 6 monthly PSA tests. This is a small booklet size of 30 pages and is published with a view to help others in similar circumstances to make this journey. Michael is not a medical professional and does not recommend any specific treatment however he does emphasize the need to consult the appropriate medical professionals as he has done and seek the options available for treatment of prostate cancer.
