Through conversations with clergy in traditional African-American parishes, Deacon Timothy E. Tilghman has developed an approach to evangelization based on the principles of community organization. Going to the Well to Build Community examines the conversation that leads to relationships that bring people into the Churchpeople of faith acting with one voice based on shared values to transform their neighborhood. Deacon Tilghman incorporates teachings from Pope Francis’ recent encyclical on evangelization, Evangelii Gaudium (The Joy of the Gospel).
