The Struggle over the Past: Fundamentalism in the Modern World
William M. Shea
It is said that the American fundamentalist political tide has turned. Although this may the case, it does not mean that fundamentalist religiosity has lost its appeal, nor is it likely that it will do so in the future. It also seems that fundamentalism is not a phenomenon peculiar to American Christianity, but is an international occurrence. The essays in this collection, presented in 1989 at the annual meeting of the College Theology Society, address various questions regarding religious fundamentalism, including those of terminological aptness.
