After-school Theatre Programs for At-risk Teenagers
Philip Zwerling
This book argues that where other social interventions (ie the juvenile justice system, DARE,
Scared Straight , etc) have failed to adequately address the problems of at-risk teenagers, inexpensive and easily-implemented after-school theatre programs may have more success. The author suggests that low-cost, non-coercive theatre programs can demonstrably lower incidences of youth violence, drug use, teen pregnancy, and gang membership.
