AUTHOR: Cathryn Spence is a museum professional, undergraduate tutor, regular lecturer and published writer. Her PhD thesis concentrated on the historic museology of the V&A Museum and its relations with the Tate and National galleries. She has been professionally involved with historic building and garden conservation since 2001 when she joined the Building of Bath Museum as Curator/Director. Cathryn writes a regular column for The Bath Magazine on all aspects of Bath’s architectural heritage and is about to complete an MSc in the conservation of historic gardens and cultural landscapes.
