In this book the nature, formation and evolution of the different types of stellar couples and accreting binaries are described, together with their final fate. Aimed at graduate students and researchers, it will provide an introduction to the topic and describe the different types of accreting binary systems such as cataclysmic variables (CVs), low-and high-mass X-ray binaries (LMXBx/HMXBs), and peculiar binaries such as ultraluminous X-ray sources (ULXs).
