The Derrida Reader: Writing Performances

This work draws together a number of Derrida’s most interesting and idiosyncratic essays which deal with literary language, the idea of the literary and questions of poetics and poetry drawn from the range of his published works in translation. The essays selected discuss concepts such as metaphor, the idea of titles and signatures, proper names, and Derrida’s thinking on subject such as undecidability or aporia. The introduction outlines each essay’s main points, its usefulness for reading literary texts and its particular area of interest.
