After retiring with over 25 years of active military service Ed Semler was routinely sought out for words of wisdom from prospective Chiefs participating in the Chiefs Initiation. Feeling that providing the new Chief with just a few lines on a Charge Sheet was doing them an injustice, he decided to put together his advice on becoming a well-rounded Chief Petty Officer.
