Before there was Kindergarten and play-school and Mother’s Day Out, there were neighborhoods and neighbors. It was a time when kids in the neighborhood not only had each other but they also had access to the grown up . These grown ups helped raise the children who lived around them and the children helped the grown ups stay young. This is a story of one of those children. This five-year-old toured the neighborhood each day. She visited with the grown ups and learned from them at the same time they gave her the attention that she craved. It was a magical time.
