He steered the tractor on some of the busiest roads in the north of England including many miles along the great north road now called the a1 highway, he guided his charge through many of the great industrial towns and cities of the north such as Leeds, Manchester, Newcastle,
Durham and Chester-le-street. Brian named his book Shake Rattle and Roll due to the discomfort of driving an iron monster on iron wheels with cross strakes.
