I've waited my whole life to be bound to the hero of my dreams, a knight in shining armour that would be the pinnacle of virtue and justice.

It'll be like a dream, my sisters said.

Yet I've found myself in a nightmare.

Blood and death surround me and at the very heart lies my hero, a hideous man who loathes the gods, and that includes me. He said I was too late, that he didn't need nor want me or my power, that I was a monster who abandoned him in his time of need.

To my dismay, his adamant rejection has inadvertently left me stuck in the mortal realm.

Worse yet, I find myself physically bound to him. Where he goes, so do I. Including straight into the clutches of rampaging monsters.

I don't know what to make of him. He hunts monsters to protect people that despise him. He hates me yet I sense he is conflicted. His golden eyes look at me with disdain but also something more. His touch is rough yet my heart won't stop pounding.

If he wont accept a goddess, then perhaps he would be willing to accept an earnest woman instead.
