The black and white planet of Panshoo is covered in Grey Bubble-Goo and it is getting to be a real problem! A sweet, furry, little alien named Farful Foolong is concerned that the Grey Bubble-Goo is taking over the planet. By thinking through the problem with a can-do attitude, he is inspired to take Grey Bubble-Goo (which smells alot like shampoo) to the planet of color (Earth). On earth, Farful trades the Grey Bubble-Goo for a pair of brand-new, red shoes. He then exchanges all of the Grey Bubble-goo he has for many pairs of colorful shoes. After arriving home, Farful trades the shoes with residents of Panshoo for all the Grey Bubble-Goo they have. By doing so, Farful introduces color to the black and white world of Panshoo, ridding his world of Grey Bubble-Goo. This story shows that with a little heart and creative thinking, children can try to help solve problems. Farful saves the day, brings color to the planet of Panshoo and introduces Grey Bubble-Goo to the kids on Earth. Children will follow Farful’s path from understanding the problem to creative thought to problem solving. Author Nick Loren uses rhythmic cadence and rhymes that are reminiscent of Dr. Seuss. Thinking creatively and using imagination are the themes of this story. According to Audrey Geisel (a.k.a. Mrs. Dr. Seuss), the story resonates with a Seussian echo.
