Jake, a hotel manager, and Jane, a psychologist, are on and off friends since their senior year in high school. About twenty years have passed and their relationship has never been romantic, but the chemistry and sexual tension is increasing lately. They have a lot in common, like their interest in true crime shows. But when Jane’s ex-boyfriend, the tall, handsome, and aggressive Rick shows up, Jake retreats. Through therapy sessions with Jane, Jake finds a way to stay in the picture while dealing with memories of a lonely childhood. His mysterious dreams at night lead him on a path of self-discovery and change. He meets other women and discovers new and interesting places in his quest of becoming his true self, the real Jake.
