It’s 1967. Taking refuge from the psychedelic cullture of Los Angeles, Jake Acree and his brother Evan go back to the land on the central California coast. But their organic meditation commune is disrupted by a strange and compelling yogi-shaman who is bent on seizing political control of the world through occult and metaphysical means. Torgen Sorenson, a disciple of the famous swami Paramahansa Yogananda, persuades them that they have been sent by the revered but now dead Master to help him actualize his scheme of world dominion. Sorenson pulls the brothers deep inside the secret activities of his new-age church, The Center Of Light. They undergo months of rigorous training in advanced yoga concentration, occult ceremonial magic, and bizarre dietary experiments. Guided by the fond but obsessed camaraderie of reverend Sorenson, all culminates in a radical showdown with the demonic forces of evil that apparently control the world. Jake and Evan find a way to shatter the deranged spell and break free, but along the way many unknown things are discovered and they themselves are transformed.
