Imogen: The story of Shakespeare’s Cymbeline. A king’s daughter goes against her father’s wishes and marries a lowborn gentleman instead of his oafish stepson but before they can consummate the marriage the king banishes the husband from Britain. While in Rome, during a heated exchange the husband commits to a wager against his wife’s faithfulness. Tricked into believing the wager lost he sends word to his servant in Britain to lure princess Imogen to Wales and kill her. The servant knowing her innocence, provides a disguise and a plan for her to pretend to be a boy page and hitch a ride to Rome. The stepson forces the servant to reveal her destination and goes after her determined to kill her husband, rape and humiliate her, then drag her back to court. What none of them count on is that actions taken years previously interfere with their plans and during all this Rome launches an invasion against Britain.
