This book is a very personal journey of my family genealogy. This incredible historical journey begins with a seed planted of a Metis Warrior among the Jamestown Colony, Virginia. The Powhatan were a proud American Indian people of Eastern Virginia. Our story begins with Opechancanough Mangopeesomon, Paramount Chief of the Powhatan, born about 1545. We then switch genealogy gears and my family lineage includes Dakota Chiefs. Wabasha I, Wakute Wazican /Pine Shooter is the father of Cuthbert Grant Jr's mother, Grand Nakomas Mah Je Gwoz Since Marguerite, "Clear sky". She is also known as "Utiniwasis. She is also the mother of my great great great grandmother Josephte Grant. And so from this my Proud Metis line begins. I am hoping my own incredible journey that has an amazing pit stop at the famous Jamestown Colony to plant a seed, will inspire so many more to dig deeper into their own family histories and really embrace and celebrate where we come from.
