Vol 3 of my father's family history. Vol I Bronwylfa a House and its Family, the history of the family from the 17th century when Elizabeth Owen of Peniarth married John Lloyd of Gwyddfryniau, to the present day. Vol II Peniarth 1400-1667 tells the story of Gruffudd ab Aron who founded Peniarth down to his descendant Margaret Owen, Elizabeth's mother, heiress of Peniarth, who died in 1667. Vol III has been divided into 2 Parts, but the whole Vol covers the mediaeval ancestry of the family at Peniarth before 1400. Part I covers the descent of Gruffudd ab Aron from Ednywain ap Bradwen and the ancestry of his wife Gwenllian; Chapter III, the family's links with Yr Arglwydd Rhys, Lord Rhys ap Gruffudd; and chapter 4 the family's descent from Llywelyn Fawr, Llywelyn ab Iorwerth. Part II tells of our ancestor Rhirid Flaidd; the ancestry of Owain Glyndwr, from whose sister Lowri we descend, the Pulestons of Emral, Royal ancestors of Duke Humphrey of Gloucester, and the families of Bohun, Fitzalan and Mortimer.
