Deontay Leshun Wilder, born on October 22nd, 1985, Tuscaloosa, Alabama, U.S., is a professional boxer, who's held the WBC heavyweight title since 2015, when he became the first American world heavyweight champion for 9 years, which was the longest period of time in boxing history without an American heavyweight champion. As an amateur Deontay won a bronze medal in the heavyweight division at the Olympics held in Beijing during 2008, which led to his nickname of "The Bronze Bomber", which Wilder adopted after Joe Louis, who was known by the nickname of "The Brown Bomber".
