In PM Gold level, sentences are more complicated and are of an average length of ten words. To complete this level successfully, children needs to apply reading strategies such as breaking long words down into syllables. Multi-syllable words are used frequently throughout this level.

Gold level consolidates young readers’ recognition of common suffixes. It enhances their understanding of the two parts in compound words. It also helps them grasp word onsets.
