While we haven’t listed the book here (as we have a separate bestsellers list for children and young adult books here), our biggest seller for the week is Trace Balla’s debut graphic novel, Rivertime, which was recently named the winner of the Readings Children’s Book Prize 2015!
The Readings Children’s Book Prize recognises and celebrates books that families love reading together, or that children read under the covers with a torch late into the night because they can’t bear to put it down – books they tell their friends about. It also aims to raise the profile of debut and on-the-rise Australian children’s book authors. You can find out more about Balla’s win here, or find a sneak peek inside the book here.
Other top sellers for last week include no less than four colouring books (The Mindfulness Colouring Book:, Millie Marotta’s Animal Kingdom, Secret Garden, Enchanted Forest: 20 Postcards), as well as two non-fiction books from terrific Australian authors: Gideon Haigh and Malcolm Knox (respectively Certain Admissions and Supermarket Monsters)).
Also non-fiction, Giulia Enders’ Gut is quickly becoming a staff favourite. Find our review of the book here.
