Our kids & YA bestsellers this week present such a delightfully balanced list of books for all ages and interests! Important moments in Australian history and essential First Nations knowledge are being imparted through the excellent illustrated books, Finding Our Heart, Welcome To Country and Young Dark Emu.

Funny books get a guernsey with the eleventh book in Aaron Blabey’s blockbusting The Bad Guys series, Dawn of the Underlord tickling the fancy of junior readers, and David Walliams’ Slime continuing to entertain independent readers. It’s also nice to see that the latest instalment in Soman Chainani’s wonderful fairytale-skewering The School for Good and Evil series, One True King (The School for Good and Evil, Book 6) is being read by plenty of eager fans.

YA readers are reaching for Suzanne Collins’ new addition to the The Hunger Games series, The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes, and also one of our favourite Australian releases from last year, The Readings Young Adult Book Prize shortlisted, The Surprising Power of a Good Dumpling.
