Luca finds himself renting the apartment above The Sweet Spot Bakery in the little town of Laurel Falls, Maine, where fall fun is in full swing.

Vera Stephens wants a more fulfilling life. She hopes to find inspiration in Laurel Falls, home to her best friend, Ruby, and honorary grandmother, Mamu. She plans to rent Mamu's bakery apartment, only to find it already occupied. Vera meets the handsome and dangerous looking new resident and their attraction is explosive.

Bonding over hot chocolate and night skies, Luca and Vera quickly become friends on the verge of more. Luca worries about his family and the threat they pose, so his plan is to have a friendship and nothing more; however, they keep crossing the line!
