He is a mischievous, talking poodle who just so happens to also be a ninja! In Ninja Puppy and the Too Good to be True Teacher, Ninja Puppy decides to see what it's like to go to school. He soon realizes that teachers can have bad days too. Along with his classmates, Ninja Puppy will have to navigate green gooey goo bombs and oversized flying school supplies if they are going to help their teacher sort out whatever is causing her bad mood. Could Mrs Tobor have a totally unexpected secret problem?

When Gunner wrote Ninja Puppy and the Too Good to Be True Teacher, he was in the fourth grade and his time in elementary school was coming to an end. Gunner always loved school very much but as he reflected on his time in elementary, he thought of times when school wasn't always sunshine and roses. He wanted to make a funny story about times when teachers can be less than perfect. He also wanted to share a valuable lesson that he had learned about how sometimes, when a person is not being very nice, they just need a little help. In true Gunner fashion, his 5th book also includes awesome and educational vocabulary words.
