This story follows Khalifa, Cariann, and the rest of the women in their family as we watch them grow through their choices, learn how to love and make life changing decisions. These women of varying generations and ages show the different lives and struggles that can exists in one family; proving that women, black women specifically, are far from a monolith. All of this is shown through a series of interlinked short stories and related poetry peppered in-between.
