A Scythe in the Dark

Amid an ever-escalating war, a wedge has been driven between Tag and Randall. These one-time friends find themselves in a hostile status verging on becoming enemies.

All but giving up on his friend, Tag takes a young war orphan under his wing. The tender and broken boy struggles to adapt to life in the war... and becomes a further stone in the wall between Tag and his former friend.

Unknown to them all, a dark and deadly magical creature called a Black Whisper has been sent to hunt Tag and bring him to Uval and Kuran.

Humiliated, Uval thirsts for vengeance against Tag and may soon have the boy in his grasp thanks to the soul-stealing monster. He schemes tortures untold for the boy soldier who has come to be renowned as 'The Scythe.'

Will Tag escape the clutches of his obsessive enemy? Can he and Randall set aside their differences and unite against a common foe? Or will they all be consumed by the dark maelstrom swirling around them?
