Jenny Styner, a children's wallpaper designer, is struggling with a creative block and decides to take a short break in the serene landscapes of Devon. Staying at a small, isolated hotel near the Tors, she hopes to reignite her inspiration. However, her holiday quickly spirals into chaos when she clashes with Darius, a strikingly handsome businessman staying at the same hotel.

After a comical series of mishaps-including a painful encounter that leaves him stark naked and a confrontation that sends him tumbling down a hill-Jenny makes a hasty exit, likening Darius's intellect to that of a slug. To her dismay, she discovers upon returning home that her sister is dating Darius's brother, ensuring their paths will cross again.
