This book is a result of the Kenya National Education conference held In 2019 organised by the Aga Khan University-Institute for Educational Development, East Africa. The conference focused on contextually relevant issues affecting education in East Africa. The conference was held against the backdrop of a myriad of changes and reforms in the education sector in Kenya. These reforms have consistently not achieved the desired
outcomes. Indeed some argue that if Kenya is to achieve Vision 2030 which aims to transform the country into a newly industrialising middle-income country providing a high quality of life to all its citizens in a clean and secure environment, education reform must be effective.
