Horizon

Bert Danckaert,Alison Nordstrom

Bert Danckaert explores new horizons in this latest collection of his work. Danckaert has been a name to remember in the art photography world, ever since his 1990 debut. This book maintains continuity with his previous collections, with pictures focussing on the urbane urbanism of walls, street corners and footpaths. However, this time his signature hermetic minimalism makes way for humour and vivacity. This book chronicles a fresh project from a photographer on the way the top. Bert Danckaert studied photography at the Academy for Fine Arts and the National Higher Institute for Fine Arts (NHISK) in Antwerp (B). Since the mid-nineties, he has been working as a photographer and has showcased his work at several solo and group exhibitions, in Belgium and abroad. Besides his artistic activities, Danckaert also writes about photography for several newspapers and magazines and has worked as freelance curator. He is associate professor of photography at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts, Antwerp (B). Bert Danckaert is a member of POC (Piece of Cake), a European collective of photographers. Alison Nordstom was ‘curator-at-large’ for a long time at the George Eastman House of Photography in New York, the oldest and biggest photography museum in the world. She is considered an authority in the world of art photography. SELLING POINTS: . A new and surprising book by Bert Danckaert . His previous book Simple Present sold out in just a few weeks .
