Aquila, a series planned for biennial publication, is presented to scholars with a broad interest in modern languages and literatures. Each volume con- tains original material contributed by specialists within this general area, with minimal limitation as to language or length of the studies, the criteria being the significance of content, and clear, interesting presentation. Aquila III includes important articles on the Wittenberg Revision of the Vulgate; Hispanic and Italian language problems; a study of literary crea- tion; an analysis of Pushkin’s rhyme structure; a bridge between Ficino and Botticelli; mediaeval, Renaissance and classical French literature; Edgar Allen Poe; and postmodern American literature.
