About the Book

ONE WORLD, MANY STORIES

Author Shobha Tharoor Srinivasan, an award-winning voice-over artist, has been gathering tales for children from her travels and exchanges across the world. The result is a rich collection of fables, folktales, legends and myths from Kerala and Japan, from the continent of Africa and from the Native American communities. The mix is eclectic, and includes lesser-known gems as well as familiar classics like the Jataka Tales and Aesop's Fables.

A Treasure Trove of Timeless Tales is the ideal bedtime read for children and their parents or grandparents. Ready then to drift off to lands far and near, and explore the magic of timeless tales, vibrant cultures, intelligent animals, funny characters, colourful townsfolk, cool gods and smart kids?

About the Author

Shobha Tharoor Srinivasan is an award-winning voice-over artist, poet, editor, and author of a dozen works of fiction and non-fiction. She is also a former non-profit development professional who spent two decades as an advocate and fundraiser for persons with disabilities. She won the 68th National Film Awards for Best Narration Voiceover for the film Rhapsody of Rains-Monsoons of Kerala, in 2022. Shobha has published children's books in India and the United States, including the award-winning Indi-Alphabet (Mango and Marigold), Prince with a Paintbrush: The Story of Raja Ravi Varma (Westland), It's Time to Rhyme (Aleph) and Parvati the Elephant's Very Important Day (HarperCollins). Her first book for adults, Good Innings (Penguin), is being translated into Malayalam. Shobha's love of words and stories began in childhood with storytelling sessions and wordplay with her siblings. When she is not travelling in search of stories, Shobha lives in Campbell, California, with her husband. When she's not writing, doing voice-overs, or multitasking, she can be found playing fun grandmom to her two grandchildren, reading books or telling tales from around the world.
