La promulgacion de la Constitucion de 1917 es el resultado directo de la politica mexicana. Esta constitucion tomo como base fundamental la Constitucion de 1857, sin embargo fueron tomados como referencia otros proyectos constitucionales aprobados anteriormente como: El Decreto Constitucional para la Libertad de la America Mexicana del 22 de octubre de 1814 y el Reglamento provisional politico del Imperio mexicano de 18 de diciembre de 1822 entre otros.
