The metaphysical basis of recognition and historicity
Olivier Baloki Wata
If the idea of a metaphysical basis for recognition is to be understood as a reflection on the existential conditions of unrecognized and forgotten being, it is necessary to determine the intersubjective conditions of personal integrity. Human existence sometimes diverges from the promises of rationality and responsible affectivity. This is why, in many of the spaces in which people live, there is a forgetfulness of being. Several concepts of oppression are used to justify the alienation of the weak and the working masses. Hence, the commodification and toolification of man, incessant wars declared on almost every continent of the world, massacres of the innocent, the impoverishment of the working class, class struggles and egocentric struggles for existence. Oblivion of being leads to the establishment of a society of oppression and contempt. It reveals a physiognomy of the capitalist way of life, a symbol of an anguished, pathological humanity. Human reason no longer has any impact on human actions; it has been eclipsed.
