The use of cinema to discuss gender and sexuality in Physical Education
Suelen de Souza Andres
The ways in which we construct our representations of gender and sexuality are closely linked to the social relationships we establish, the institutions we attend and/or share their assumptions, and also to the cultural artefacts we have access to. When I use films, I see them as a cultural artefact that produces meaning and significance permeated by power relations. In this sense, this book analyses the use of cinema as a pedagogical cultural artefact to discuss themes such as gender and sexuality in teacher training in the field of Physical Education.
