In 1998 I had my first contact with the Brazilian Sign Language (LIBRAS), an interest in and love for the deaf community through the Nova Vida Church in Belford Roxo/RJ, where I am a member. From that moment on, my life changed and with it my family, ecclesiastical, educational, professional and social future. The following year we created MUS - Ministerio Uncao Silenciosa. Now, everything revolves around this linguistic-cultural coexistence with deaf people. I took LIBRAS courses at FENEIS and a LIBRAS interpreter course offered by FENEIS in partnership with INES. I worked as a LIBRAS interpreter at FENEIS and APADA, renowned institutions for the deaf in Brazil. I was a face-to-face and online tutor for the first graduating class of the Bachelor of Letters in Libras and an inclusion workshop and interpreter for the NGO Escola de Gente: comunicacao em inclusao. In this work, my aspiration is to be able to contribute with yet another investigation that contributes to the rise and visibility of LIBRAS, for a new look at deaf teachers.
